Teachers urged to use ICT
Education minister Jessica Alupo has urged teachers to use Information Communication and Technology (ICT) equipment in teaching because it has enormous learning content. She said ICT provides access to a huge range of resources any time. Alupo made the remarks while addressing teachers who underwent training in computer skills at Kololo Senior Secondary School on Wednesday. She also launched a computer laboratory with about 80 computers at the school. The laboratory was donated by the ministry and the Uganda Communications Commission.

Districts sensitised on child rights
A total of 89 non-governmental and community-based organisations in Kiboga and Kyankwanzi districts have embarked on a campaign to empower communities on the rights of children. This follows an increase in cases of abuse of children’s rights and freedom in the two districts. Patrick Nsubuga, the probation and welfare officer of Kiboga and Kyankwanzi, said children’s rights were grossly violated through torture, child labour and defilement. He made the remarks on Friday during the launch of the campaign at Bwekiri Primary School in Butemba sub-county, Kyankwanzi.
