SPORTS Club Villa Coach Srdjan Zivojnov cut a figure of composure in the conference as irate Jogoos fans paced around the stands following a goalless draw against Police FC at Namboole stadium on Friday.

The Serbian had secured a nail biting draw with 10 men after an injured Phillip Gasana was stretchered out as soon as the Serb exhausted his substitution options in the game physical game.

Villa had been denied a number of goal scoring chances by Police custodian Eddy Kaweesa including second half opportunities by Emma Kalyowa and Edris Kaye; and Zivojnov, who was visibly infuriated by similar results towards the end of the last season, chose to praise his charges for the draw.

“When you are a coach of a club like Villa you are always under pressure and you must be happy for us. We have serious (scoring) problems but we played well,” Zivojnov said.

However, the coach cannot hide his search for his first win of the league in their next match promising to talk to his players to do the job for him.

“Maybe as young players, the problem is psychological. They must be feeling some pressure to perform for Villa.” Zivojnov added.

At the same press conference, his new team captain Denis Guma confirmed the concern saying that: “the pressure is on. As a new captain you need to win.”

After a loss in their season opener to Masaka LC and the sterile draw in the following game at Namboole, Villa lies third from bottom of the 15 team table and the impatient club fans are already suggesting solutions to the managers.

KCC FC went down 2-1 to neighbours Water FC and youthful coach Matia Lule described it as a one off which will not happen again.

Former player Joseph Bukenya picked the first goal for Water, Siraje Turyamuhebwa leveled for KCC but David Nyanzi’s terrific header sealed the damage in the live broadcast match.
