TURKISH Light Academy has donated 140 cows worth sh70m to communities in Kajjansi, Bombo and Masaka district.

The donation to mark last week’s Eid-El-Adhuha and tomorrow’s Christmas celebrations was shared among several institutions including the Police, Prisons, hospitals, orphanages and schools.

The headmaster, Hakki Aydin, said the gesture was to show unity and love. “We believe that we may differ in religion but we can remain united in everything, especially in development. We always donate cows towards these festivities. Last year, we slaughtered about 80 cows,” he said.

Aydin was speaking during the handover ceremony at the school premises in Kajjansi, Wakiso district on Thursday. He said the institution also offers scholarships to students.
