WORRIED, sick about your child at university? You ought to be. Parents do not realise that most of the rules they give their children will not always echo in their mind.

Your son or daughter will use this time away from home to do what they have longed to do. Your child will try to fit in and I cannot promise that they will find it comfortable.

Is your child a loner or an out-going person?
They could have put up a show to please you because of your constant poke in their lives. But now, they are free. Free in a sense that mama and papa are not with me. And let the show begin!

Will you know what they do?
Even if you check with their wardens, you will not know everything. Some pay wardens to silence them.
No camera can catch them in the wrong except if they appear in that nude magazine, but, uh no! They know you read every collection, so they will avoid it and do something worse!

What do we do to ensure that our children are safe?
Let us encourage them to get involved in the different associations at university. That will keep them occupied. If you think they need more, give them some sort of responsibility.

That way you will be assured your child is safe. I am waiting for the freshers’ ball.
