THE first time Ugandans knew there was a singer called OJ was after the release of Zino Ennaku, which features OJ, Good Lyfe and Michael Chris.

OJ co-wrote and also sang in the chartbuster which also helped revamp the careers of the likes of Michael Chris, a UK-based Ugandan singer.

But after a couple of successful collaborations, OJ, real name Isaac Nsubuga, is out to make a mark of his own. He has released a six-track album, Musanyuse, which has taken UK-based Ugandan clubs by storm.

The songs, which are predominantly R&B, include Musanyuse, Don’t Go, Balemelako, Bebuuza, Nnalonda, Omwana, Carolina and True Colours, which is based on a true story.

OJ, a sound engineering graduate from Holbon City Academy in the UK, is slated to perform at Club Volts, Kibuye later this month to promote his music.

He is also working on an international album, which will have English songs only. “I am targeting both the Ugandan and international audience,” he says.
