Jean Peace made her landmark when she released Yesu ye Mwami

By Mathias Mazinga

JEAN Peace Nakiyingi, a soul artiste based at Light the World Church, Nansana will, this Sunday, launch her newly released musical album.
Recorded at Hope Studio in Kasubi, Jean Peace’s album, Nsaba Mukama, has six songs done in various music styles.

The title-song, Nsaba Mukama (I pray to God) is a duet. She did it with Wilson Bugembe, a senior pastor at the church.
In the song, Jean Peace projects the power of divine providence, using the testimony of her own life.

She encourages her fans to always have total trust in God, their provider and sustainer.

Nakiyingi also shows the futility of wealth and power acquired through vice.

Besides its Afrobeats, the song is enriched with ad libs of soprano by Justine Nabbosa, Nakiyingi’s musical associate.

The song, Y’ajja Tuwone, is another interesting item on the album. One part of the song is in Luganda and done in zouk, while the otherpart is sung in Lusoga and wrapped in traditional Kisoga beats.

Nakiyingi revisits her favourite style of RnB in Kangume Mukama gy’ali, an encouragement for those experiencing suffering and despair.

Other songs on the album include Ani oyo ayita, Nkomyewo (based on the Biblical story of the prodigal son) and Eri Ggwe, a prayer of rescue and deliverance.

Renowned for her hit, Yesu ye mwami wange (Jesus is my husband).
Nakiyingi, 26, met Pastor Wilson Bugembe in 2004 and joined the Church choir.

She went solo in 2007, when she released her maiden album Nawummula. After, she released Yesu ye mwami, which became her trademark.
