Preparations for the first ever Miss Inter-university beauty race are underway.

Eighteen girls from Kampala International University, Nkumba, Makerere, Mukono, Ndejje universities and other institutions of higher learning, will vie for the coveted brand-new Toyota Celica car, the prize for the lucky winner.

Other prizes include a one-year tuition sponsorship, sh2m and a home theatre for the second and third runners-up.

Marilyn Mungereza, the event organiser, says the beauty pageant, which will run under the theme ‘Beauty with a difference,’ will take place on Saturday, September 17, at Lugogo Oval Cricket Grounds.

Tickets will go for sh20,000 for VIP and sh10,000 for general.

The beauty pageant will feature performances from Kenya’s dancehall sensation, Redsan, alongside local artistes like Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Juliana Kanyomozi, Jose Chameleone, Blu*3, Ngoni and others.

On Wednesday, the girls were treated to a corporate dinner at the Kampala Grand Casino.
Mungereza says, “The pageant is one of those big events that you cannot afford to miss.”

Muko Investments, Capital Radio and Hotel International are sponsoring the event.
