I ask school proprietors and head teachers to spare parents from excessive exploitation this term. We have always cried of head teachers who demand dozens of exercise books, reams of papers, brooms, toilet papers, etc every term.
As parents, we are already overburdened by fees and we wouldn’t like to be burdened again.
I request head teachers not to place additional demands on the parents shoulders.
I also request that schools which want parents to contribute towards educational trips to inform parents ahead of time.
It is frustrating to wake up in the middle of the term and ask parents to pay for something they were not even aware of.
If parents are informed at the beginning of the term, they will plan accordingly.
Sending children back home because they haven’t paid for a certain trip yet the parent has already paid the fees is unfair. The core purpose of taking our children to school is to study.
Although good, trips are only of secondary importance to the learners.
It is, therefore, illegal to send children back home because they have not paid for a trip. I stand to be corrected on this.
