I am responding to the advice given to someone who did history, economics, geography and entrepreneurship at A’ level and was inquiring whether he could apply for Commerce.

You stated that such a person could not be given commerce because he did not take mathematics. What I know that person can apply for commerce (external) under the Institute of Adult and Continuing Education.

This course takes over 1,000 students per year and it is facilitated by the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEMA).

This course takes four years to complete and the requirement for admission is that a student should pass economics and other arts or science related subjects.

Even if one has not done mathematics he or she can be admitted for this course. You should also have advised the student to try other business related courses such as bachelor of etrepreneurship and small business management, bachelor of development economics and international business.

Edison Kadoma is a former part-time lecturer, bachelor of commerce (external)
