Shame on grumbling head teachers

  • I would like to respond to the article which appeared in Education Vision of last week regarding accessing examination results by SMS. I find it shameful that some head teachers are grumbling instead of celebrating this landmark achievement. UNEB should be given a pat on the back for striving to keep up to the challenge of the changing times.

The same private schools squandering students’ fees are now complaining of the new system. I am not surprised that their complaint is premised on nothing else but money.

They are so commercial that they can sacrifice the future of this nation. Instead of thinking of alternative means of getting their money from students they are complaining. Some of these head teachers don’t care about the inconvenience of having to move to the school to access one’s results. Shame indeed!

I pray that UNEB continues to keep up with the changing times and come up with a system that enables the candidates to register online without having to go through some of these greedy, profit-minded head teachers.

I pity those who are complaining because there is no turning back. We are living in modern times and just like the proverb says, “If a tree refuses to dance, it will be forced to dance by the wind.”
