Are our readers coping practices safe?
SAUYA Karara, the mother of two- month-old Jaheim, says her son has not experienced serious colic problems and sleeps soundly. Karara believes this is because she gave him a herb six hours after birth. Five days later when the cord fell off, she gave him mushroom soup mixed with ghee.
Florence Kabanda says to prevent colic, she soaked small mushrooms in boiled water for about five minutes and set aside to cool. She gave her baby soup before the cord fell off. When the cord fell off, she invited a mother of twins to spit on the cord and tie a sling around the baby’s waist. She also gave her baby tomato juice.
Julie Okech says her son, Ethan, had his first colic episode when he was three days old. He would cry inconsolably, especially at night, griping and twisting. She gave him gripe water but he would spit it out. His grandmother gave him a herb which he would take before feeding. In one-and-a-half months, he was fine.
