    NATIONAL RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

    N. Mutebi 285 pts
    R. Ssebuguzi 229
    J. Mangat 200
    P. Lwakataka 175

THE clerk of course Kenneth Masumba has warned drivers to exercise caution due to what he described as an ‘extremely fast route’ in the Jinja rally this weekend.

Masumba explained that he did not intend to design a very smooth route but some roads in Kamuli were graded long after he had completed his work.

“We normally include rough sections to control the pace but by the time the roads were graded it was too late to change the route. I can only advise competitors to be cautious lest they veer off the road,” Masumba explained.

The 26km Muguluka-Kagoma and Busiya-Kagoma section along Kamuli road had been designed to control the pace but the potholes were cleared.

“You can only expect a very fast race. The route is smooth and the top 11 drivers are quick and have good cars. The spectators should keep away from the road,” he cautioned.

National championship leader Nasser Mutebi in a Subaru N4 will be flagged off first and will be chased in more powerful cars by championship rivals Ronald Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi Evo9), Jas Mangat (Subaru N12) and Ponsiano Lwakataka (Subaru N8).

The rally will start with a super special stage at Jinja agricultural showground tomorrow at 12noon.

On Sunday competitors will cover nine competitive sections in the Busoga region districts of Jinja and Kamuli.

The second last round of the national championship is organized by Eastern Motor Club.
