JEFF Lwalanda is determined to shine at his new volleyball club in Burundi after lifting Uganda’s KCC and Rwandan side APR to glory.

The enterprising player has been recruited by the Bujumbura-based top army side Muzinga.

Lwalanda, a former KCC skipper, has vowed to lead his new masters to glory at this year’s edition of the KAVC Memorial championship due August 13-15 in Kampala.

“We are coming for the title, not to compete,” the attacker said.

“We have the talent and I want to lead this team to victory like I have done with KCC and APR before.”

Muzinga will make a debut in the annual tournament.

“I know it’s our maiden appearance but we have played the same teams in other tournament before this and we know the quality of players they have,” he added.

Kenyan giants Pipeline and Railways, APR and Burundi’s Amicale will also be in action. Uganda’s Sport-S (men) and KCC (women) are the title holders.
