    Africa Nations Championship
    Saturday
    Uganda v Burundi

AS the countdown to Uganda’s Africa Nations Championship return fixture against Burundi gathers pace, Cranes boss Bobby Williamson finds himself with plenty of puzzles.

The Scot virtually knows the skeleton of his first team, but will struggle on whom to leave out in three areas.

“We did not win the game in Bujumbura, so there will definitely be changes. I plan to make three but it will be difficult to decide who to bring in as all the players are improving every day,” Williamson stated after training yesterday.

Williamson’s strength in depth up front has already been augmented by the return to fitness of strikers Henry Kisekka and Peter Ssenyonjo.

Kisekka, who struck Uganda’s goal in the first leg before sustaining an injury and being replaced by Bruno Olobbo, has been declared fit.

At the same time, Ssenyonjo who missed the game in Burundi has also showed signs of sharpness.

“Both have recovered and ready for duty. That’s a huge plus for the team,” Williamson added.

On the evidence of the team’s work-out yesterday, there were indications Ibrahim ‘Sadam’ Juma might start behind the main striker, which means the coach will have to decide on either Ssenyonjo or Kisekka to lead the lines.

Sadam has showed the ability to hold the ball and bring forwards into play.

At the back, Edward Ssali and Isaac Isinde might have started in Bujumbura but Derrick Walulya, Jimmy Mukubya and Musa Doka are giving genuine performances in training to justify consideration.

“I have very good defensive covers too. All the guys are doing well,” Williamson stated.

The Cranes are currently preparing for the second leg against Burundi.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Bujumbura. All that The Cranes need is a goalless draw or any win to progress to the second round of the tournament exclusively meant for locally based players.
