Four more stars desert Falcons

    MOUNTAIN Dew Falcons will certainly be a depleted side this season after four key players decided to leave the six-time FUBA basketball league champions.

    This follows the departure of sh72m signing Steven Omony who cited breach of contract by the club.

    Isaac Lugudde has joined D’Mark Power, Sunday Okot, is now with the UCU Canons, Eddie Kateregga signed for Miracle Eagles while Geoffrey Soro will play for Ndejje Angels.

    Okot explained that he considers his studies first and UCU is offering him a full scholarship for a bachelors degree course.

    Lugudde said that he wants a club where he can maximise his potential as a player.

    Falcons finished runner-up in the past two years.

    Meanwhile, ten players have left Makerere Sparks raising fears about the future of the club which has suffered a dip in form since its maiden title in 2003.

    Sandra Munduru (A-1), Sara Nassuna, Sophie Kyolaba and Hilda Naigaga (Leopards), Lynn Nalunkuuma (UCU), Grace Kwarisiima (KIU), Joselyn Keko (Magic Stormers) have moved.

    Their colleagues Shiela Otim, Melody Atim and Jackie Mbabazi are held down by work commitments.

    The new season is expected to roll off next month.

    The fixtures will be released soon.
