    Heroes 1 Gulu Utd 0
    Hippos 1 Sharing FC 0

MIDFIELDER Iddi Wamakuyu struck a lone goal against visiting Gulu United to give Mbale Heroes maximum points in a Big League soccer match in Mbale on Saturday.

The match played under a scorching sun saw the visitors coached by Leo Adraa dictating the pace and launching attacks for an equaliser but Heroes’ defence kept the hard tackling strikers at bay.

In Jinja, JMC Hippos beat visiting Sharing FC 1-0 in their first home encounter at Kakindu stadium.Captain Abdallah Matovu struck the only goal of the game 13 minutes before half time with a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

After registering a prom-promising start in the Big League with a 2-0 win over Fort Hills, Mbarara United FC has received a financial boost from local fans ahead of their away tie against Ndejje University this weekend in Luwero.

Dr. Medard Bitekyerezo was the latest with sh100,000 that was handed over to club patron Abdul Kyambadde on Friday.

“We have received this as a boost to our away game against Ndejje. We have financial problems and we need more to come to our rescue,” Kyambadde pleaded.

Financial problems have hampered newly promoted sides in the Uganda Super League that has seen them fall off in the maiden season in the top flight.
