Handball Novice championships

DEFENDING champions Kibibi SS have vowed to defend their title at the 10th edition of the novices’ handball championships that kick off today at Busoga University in Iganga.

Kibibi beat Kyambogo University 13-8 to take the crown in the men’s category last year. They also retained the women title after beating Bishop Marakena High School in Kumi.
Rose Kitti, publicity secretary of the Uganda Handball Federation (UHF) has appealed to all participating teams to check their players’ records to avoid disqualification.

“We are not limiting the number of participants but a team that will use a player who is above the novices terms of three years participation will automatically be disqualified,” Kitti said yesterday

A total of 13 post primary, tertiary institutions and clubs were already on the ground yesterday preparing for the two-day event that ends tomorrow.
