THE Women’s Day Golf tournament tees off at Uganda Golf Club (UGC) this morning with over 120 competitors in action.
The 18-hole event that will mark International Women’s Day will be crowned with a grand prize-giving ceremony at which funds will be raised for one of their won.
The UGC ladies section will use the tournament to raise funds for an artificial limb for golfer Agatha Doii, who was injured in a road accident.
“We hope to raise money from corporate companies that have entered teams and individuals who may contribute†UGC lady captain Fancy Ogweng said.
The New Vision has also entered a team of four.
Meanwhile, 70-year old Herbert Nsanze enjoyed a great game as he claimed the Seniors Classic golf tournament in his age category (70+) with a score 37 stable ford points on Saturday.
Nsanze had last won this event five years ago.
