CROSS border transporter KAMPALA Coach will line up its state-of-the-art fleet of buses to ferry about 4,000 fans from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan to watch the soccer World Cup in South Africa in June.

An official of the bus firm revealed yesterday that each fan willing to travel for the global soccer bonanza will pay $1,400 (sh2.4m) for the trip that will carter for transport, meals, insurance and six days accommodation while in South Africa for some preliminary matches.

In an interview with a Kenya television network, Mr. Okoth said those willing to travel will be required to pay 25% of the total amount with the rest to be paid slowly from now to May.

“It will be a luxurious trip that will take eight days with stop overs in national parks in Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe and at Victoria Falls camping site,” Okoth said.

Okoth said each bus will carry 44 fans instead of 62 to guarantee comfort.
