LOCAL motor sport governing body FMU is yet to decide on the fate of the aborted club championship sprint over the weekend in Lubiri. The sprint ended prematurely when two wheeled car crew of Charles Kabenge and Patrick Bogere rammed into fans, seriously injuring two juveniles and one woman.

Federation vice president in charge technical Kisitu Mayanja however could not commit himself on whether Sunday’s sprint will be considered to have been completed or is to be cancelled.

According to Mayanja, the executive will have to evaluate the percentage that was covered by the period before the event aborted.

“The event counts on the calendar but the committee will have to study the regulations and decide how points should be awarded if the rules permit,” Mayanja said.

According to the provisional results the crew of Arthur Tibashoboka and George Nyanzi won the first run with 3min, 35sec and 42 micro seconds.

He was followed by Philip Semakula and Bonny Mutabaazi with 3: 37.81 ahead of third placed crew of Abbas Mayinja and Adam Kasozi who clocked 3:39.25.
Meanwhile Arthur Blick and son Aliester Blick won the motor cross championship in the open class and 50cc class respectively.

Blick senior collected 75 points followed by arch rival Asaf Natan with 66 in the open class, while Aliester Blick collected 70 points followed by Ali Omar with 66 and then young Paddy Blick third with 54 in the 50cc class.
