Entebbe race due
CHARITY RUN - Saturday December 5 will witness the first edition of the 10km road run in Entebbe. The event, code named ‘The Entebbe Director’s Race 2009’, is the first of its kind in the municipality. The proceeds from the race will help children who require Orthopaedic and Plastic/Reconstructive surgery.
“The Entebbe Director’s Race is one unique way of contributing positively to community development,” stated the event coordinator, Richard Mudde.

PAU okays Mbarara meet

POOL - The Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) has given a go-ahead to the inaugural Mbarara Tusiime tournament due on Friday at Desert Island Club in Mbarara. Michael Tusiime, the organiser and financier of the event said they had received a go ahead from PAU boss Godfrey Mabirizi. The event has attracted over 100 participants from 11 clubs. The finals will be held on December 13.

Mugisha at 101 in world tourney

SCABBLE - Phillip Edwin Mugisha, Uganda’s representative to the 2009 World Scrabble Championship, finished 101 out of 108 competitors after a strenuous three-day event that ended Monday. The bi-annual competition was held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia November 26 – 29. Mugisha won eight matches with a spread of 385 points. 24 games were played in three days that saw word gurus from 39 countries battle to outwit each other.
