FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa has called for reconciliation amongst football stakeholders if the federation is to scale greater heights.

“We simply can’t advance if we are in court all the time,” the FUFA boss said while launching his election manifesto at Serena Hotel yesterday.

Mulindwa was referring to the court battles the federation has lately been embroiled in. He is the only candidate for FUFA's elective assembly scheduled for November 14 in Arua.

“I am ready to work with everyone. Let’s be born again. Let's forget the past,” appealed Mulindwa citing Nalubaale FC's Muijib Kasule with whom he has now forged a very good relationship.

“Many people have been complaining that Mulindwa doesn’t pick his phone. I accept that has been a weakness. If I am granted another term by the assembly, I will now answer all calls,” he promised amidst cheers.

Mulindwa, flanked by his outgoing executive in Katonga Hall, said the federation planned to form an independent legal team to look into the root cause of the problems and advise the executive on the way forward.

He said FUFA also had plans to form an independent team to explore ways of managing the league more effectively.

“One of the strategies will be to look at how the leagues are managed in other countries.”

The manifesto listed better financial management, administration, public goodwill and trust in FUFA, better media relations, increased support from FIFA and CAF as some of the federation's achievements since Mulindwa assumed office in 2005.

Mulindwa also cited the Njeru technical centre, an improved league, better coaching, improved refereeing, active youth and women football, the inter-regional tournament and the FUFA awards.

“My promise for the next four years is to consolidate the gains that we have attained in the last four years; draw lessons to take us into the future; turn our challenges into objectives to be tackled and targets to be met,” the manifesto indicated.

He promised to also market the game by attracting sponsorship and facilitating competition at all levels.

Mulindwa praised government for ensuring that there was a enabling environment for football to develop.
