SECURED TOP SPOT: URA’s Ssesaga celebrates his brace at Mandela national stadium

By James Bakama

URA 3 Masaka 1

UGANDA Revenue Authority proved they have what it takes to retain the Super League soccer title by finishing the first round top of the table yesterday.

Frank ‘Video’ Anyau’s URA beat Maska LC 3-1 at Mandela stadium Namboole.
URA ensured there was no repeat of Masaka’s heroics that saw them dent KCC’s lead on Saturday.

Masaka succumbed to an early Peter Rwebuga goal and a Ronald Ssesanga brace. All goals came off headers, thanks to Masaka’s defective aerial surveillance.

Overlapping Rwebuga set the goals rolling by nodding in at the far post before Ssesanga headed in two more. Richard Ssekatawa scored Masaka’s consolation in the last minute.

The league goes into recess until after the Nations Cup qualifier away to Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
