UGANDA has scooped four of the nine annual Africa regional development awards given out by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The local governing body, UCA, was voted for the best overall development programme and the best cricket promotional programme in Africa.

The photo of the year went to The New Vision’s Mpalanyi Sentongo. It was a picture of the Kampala Kids League (KKL) in an action at Lugogo oval.

Uganda also scooped the best junior development initiative award, according to a press release from the Africa development manager Hoosain Ayob.

UCA has for the last five years consistently boasted one of the biggest development programs in the Associate and Affiliate world involving 20,000 children.

Uganda is now in the reckoning for the global awards set for March 30.
