UNITED Bank for Africa has promoted Margaret Mwanakatwe, the managing director for UBA Uganda as director for business development in Anglophone Africa.

She will be based at the group’s headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.

Mwanakatwe, an astute banker with experience across African markets, will oversee business growth and expansion in Uganda, Ghana, Cameroon, Liberia, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and Zambia.

Frans Ojielu, the executive director, will act as the managing director, until a substantive managing director is appointed, the bank indicated in a press statement issued in Kampala recently.
