THE prices of foodstuffs in Hoima municipality have gone up. Beatrice Kabasomi, a trader in Hoima Central Market, said a small bunch of matooke costs sh7,000, from sh3,500.
A big bunch is at sh15,000 from sh11,000. A tin of tomatoes is sh15,000, from sh7,000.
The increase has not affected sales, according to Kabasomi.
However, Godfrey Bagamba, a vegetable seller, said the price of vegetables was stable.
Beef prices have remained stable with a kilo at sh4,000 and sh6,000 for goat meat.
The prices of cereals, particularly maize flour, which is in plenty, have reduced to sh600 a kilo from sh800. Rice is at sh1,600 a kilogramme.
