The procurement body (PPDA) staff have donated 30 units of blood in support of the Uganda Red Cross and Uganda Blood Bank call for blood donors.

PPDA staff, including Edgar Agaba, the executive director, participated in the exercise at their head offices on Lumumba Avenue in Nakasero in Kampala, last week.

Dorah Egunyu, the spokesperson, said the blood donation drive was part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility programme to support community needs like special needs and breast cancer.

“Though we are a government agency, this activity is in line with our objective of supporting social causes,” she said.

“Donating blood is a valuable way of contributing to the welfare of the community.” A medical team from the Nakasero-based blood bank conducted the exercise.
