THE Uganda Revenue Authority enforcement team in Arua has impounded 57 cartons of contraband cigarettes. They include several brand names that had never been seen on the local market before like Stella, Boston, Reds, Rally King, Mission, Western and Pall Mall.

Lt. Patrick Mwesige, the northern region manager, said these brands were rare on the Ugandan market, but are common in the DRC.

He said the seized cigarettes, which include Supermatch, were valued at around sh20m.
