THE Vision Group has paid sh191.3m dividends to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), reaffirming its strong financial performance and share value.

Robert Kabushenga, the group chief, said the company’s foundation was solid.

“We are the best performers in the industry. This is reflected in the revenue generated,” he told a delegation from NSSF led by Grace Isabirye, the acting managing director, at the group’s head offices in the Kampala Industrial Area on Friday.

“In terms of daily newspapers, The New Vision and Bukedde are the two leading papers in the industry.”

The multi-media house has interests in newspapers, magazines, internet publishing, commercial printing, radio and television broadcasting.

It boasts of five radio stations - Vision Voice, Bukedde, Radio West, Rupiny and Etop.

It also has Bukedde Television station that started in November last year.
Kabushenga pointed out that in the electronic media industry, Bukedde Radio, Radio West and Etop were the leading stations in their respective regions.

Grace Isabirye, the NSSF acting managing director, said the fund has improved the benefits claim process.
“We also give hard and electronic statements to members.”

He said this was one of the accountability processes, adding that there was a need for the media to carry positive stories about the fund.

“We are going to address the performance issues and be proactive,” Isabirye said.

The NSSF boss had earlier decried the ‘bad’ reports about the fund in the media.
