The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda will train its members on the newly adopted accounting standard for small and medium-sized entities (SMEs).

Simon Oola, the finance and administration manager, said the training aims at creating awareness about the International Financial Reporting Standard for SMEs.

He was speaking at a one-day training workshop at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

“It will be a monthly training,” Oola said.

He added that the standard is applicable to entities that do not have public accountability and publish general purpose financial statements.
