BRITANIA Allied Industries has acquired a $1m (over sh1.9b) juice-packaging machine to boost production and enhance quality, writes Patrick Jaramogi.

“We had serious problems with our machines for several months last year.

This led to shortages of some of our products, especially the 250ml juices packs,” Vinay Dawda, the firms managing director, said on Wednesday.

He was meeting distributors at the factory in Ntinda, a Kampala suburb.
He added that the new machine would help them satisfy regional demand.

Dawda said the new machine would be operational by the end of this month. The firm produces splash mango, apple, pineapple, guava and orange juice.
