CELTEL customers can now access their corporate intranet and e-mails, browse the Web, chat, SMS and a host of other mobile voice and data solutions outside their offices, following the launch of the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution on the Ugandan market.
Martin Sebuliba, the marketing manager for corporate and small medium enterprise explained that because today’s professional works almost all the time and everywhere including out of office, making such wireless voice and data communication solutions like BlackBerry a must have.
“In real life, using a BlackBerry, a marketing manager of a manufacturing firm, can read daily reports from his sales representatives while still home.
That way, he can save valuable time when he finally gets to office. Alternatively, he can exchange e-mails with his team in real time even though he is abroad,†said Sebuliba.
The services will be delivered via a BlackBerry smart phone handset.
“The launch of the much-sought-after BlackBerry service is another demonstration of Celtel’s commitment to deliver seamless and market relevant communication solutions. This is a huge step towards our desire to enhance productivity for professionals on the move. It marks a revolution in data communication from your desktop to your pocket,†Sebuliba added.
Dr. Ham Mulira, the ICT minister, said the Government, through his ministry, took the lead to purchase and use the BlackBerry service.
“This is a sign of our confidence in Celtel’s ability to deliver on their promise and of the Government’s continued desire to continuously enhance solutions that improve its productivity and that of its people.â€
