  • Sh200m goods to be burnt

    KAMPALA -The Uganda National Bureau of Standards will burn counterfeit goods worth sh200m that were recently nabbed in the city, Terry Kahuma, the executive director, has said. The goods include Kiwi shoe polish, mattresses, Philips bulbs and geometry sets. Kahuma said they had stepped up efforts to fight the increasing number of counterfeit products on the market. “We want to work closely with the traders so that our team can investigate and move swiftly to act. The public should be careful when buying products. We will prosecute those caught with such products,” he said.


    Sh1m prizes up for grabs

    KAMPALA-Crown Beverages, the makers of Pepsi products, has injected sh1b in prizes for the Dream No More promotion. The promotion, which started on April 14, will end on July 17. The prizes include 10 Premio cars. The company’s marketing manager, Dan Muchiri, said: “The intention of this promotion is to give back to our customers and appreciate them for supporting us.” He said customers need to scratch under the liners of the 300ml bottles of Pepsi Cola, Mirinda Orange, Mirinda Fruity and 7up.
