FOR those in love with African products, you will be spoilt for choice at the seventh East African Jua Kali Exhibition that opened on Monday.

Over 20 product categories of handcrafts, wood, metal ware, textiles, leather, food, personal care products and gifts are being exhibited at the Uganda Manufacturers Association Show Grounds in Kampala.

Buses from Tanzania and Kenya were ferrying the exhibitors on Monday.

President Yoweri Museveni, who opened the exhibition, purchased items like sandals, a portrait of former Sudan first vice-president the late John Garang and shirts.

Jane Mwanje, an exhibitor from Kenya, said, “Most of our items represent our culture. We have not increased the prices because most of the items are tax-free.”
