EDITOR—My concern and prayer are addressed to the owners and of Amamu House. This is the building that houses important offices like that of the Administrator General, Registrar General and some are occupied by the NSSF.

All the offices deal with many people, but my concern is about the elderly, people with disabilities and the sick. I sympathise with those people as they struggle to climb the staircase to upper floors and then down.

There seems to be signs of the existence of lifts but I wonder why they are not functional! Even some of us who are still youthful, but routine visitors to Amamu House need the service of lifts too so that we can do our business faster. I always have to register documents with the registrar of companies but then whenever

I think about going to the fourth or sixth floors for assessment and then down to the bank for payment, then up again to the sixth floor for registration of documents and down again to wait for the process, I am upset. I just feel exhausted even before taking the steps! The concerned people who are very much aware of this problem should do something about this.

It may be good for young people to keep physically fit, but remember there are some people who no longer need body fitness. Simply make the lifts functional to help the sick, elderly and the young. This is a digital era and we should should not be stuck in the analogue systems!
