Comboni College made good decision

EDITOR—I have read Rofinson Obwona’s letter of November 11 wondering why S4 students of Comboni College were sent home. Those of us who have been following events at the school know very well the discipline of this particular S4 class right from their mock examinations.

We have even attended meetings on this matter on invitation by the school administration. The decision by the administration to send all of them home on November 7 rather than keep a few of them redundant at the school up to November 18 waiting for the Entrepreneurship examination was wise and based on good intelligence.

Although my own son was also affected, I understand the logic behind the decision and I urge my fellow parents to rally behind the headteacher as he struggles to restore sanity in our great school. Maybe the Uganda National Examinations Board should not leave such wide gaps in the examination timetable. Idleness can be a problem.
