The Police in Nakaseke district are investigating claims by Wilson Bushara, a self-styled prophet, that he is soon taking his followers to heaven.

The Nakaseke district Police commander, Edward Kyaligonza, on Saturday said he had sent investigators to Bushara’s home.

The probe follows announcements that the 52-year-old saying he would issue invitation cards to heaven to about 5,000 members of his flock.

Bushara, who now leads an affluent life has a multi-roomed residential house and also boasts of a chain of businesses in both Uganda and Kenya, said his home will be the point of departure for those invited.

In 1999 he wrongly predicted that the world would end.
