THE Police in Kayunga district have arrested two supporters of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, for allegedly beating up a policeman.
Wilson Nabende, the victim, was suspected of noting down registration numbers of boda boda motorcycles that were parked at Kayunga Hospital ground. The party president, Kizza Besigye, addressed a public rally at the grounds on Thursday.
Nabende is attached to Kayunga Police Station. His suspected attackers include Hassan Naliku, the district youth mobiliser, and Moses Kiyimbo.
Nabende escaped furious youth, who were beating him up, and ran to the Police barracks near the hospital. He sustained minor injuries but denied having written down number plates of the motorcycles that were at the rally.
Besigye proceeded to Kitimbwa sub-county where he addressed residents at Kitimbwa Primary School grounds. He said the Government was dividing people basing on tribe to prolong its stay in power.
