KAMPALA - Habib Investment, a company owned by Kampala businessman Habib Kagimu, has sued the Government over the wrongful seizure of the company vehicle, seeking to recover sh12.5m in damages.
The Government is jointly sued with Arua NRM treasurer Martin Drito, who allegedly gave false information of the theft of the vehicle to the Police.
Kagimu said his company vehicle was seized by the Police in September, 2009, and while under Police custody, it was vandalised and some parts stolen.
Kagimu argued that Habib Investment bought the vehicle from Drito, adding that it was not stolen as he told the Police.The court ordered Drito to file his defence within 15 days.
