BUHAGUZI MP Tom Kyahurwenda was released on Police bond on Friday. He was arrested on Wednesday at his home in Kabwoya trading centre.
This was after Kyahurwenda’s rival candidate, Julius Junjura, said the MP had killed two of his poll agents and assaulted others as they headed to Karama polling station in Kabwoya sub-county during the NRM primary elections.
Junjura is the Isingiro deputy resident district commissioner.
Kyahurwenda was not charged after the resident state attorney refused to sanction his case file, citing lack of sufficient evidence.
Kyahurwenda also rejected the provisional results from the NRM primaries in Buhaguzi, which showed that Junjura beat him. He said there were irregularities and favouritism in the polls.
Kyahurwenda had earlier threatened to sue the Government, challenging the manner in which he was arrested.
Last year, he was arrested over allegations of murdering his sister. Kyahurwenda has repeatedly said the charges are politically-motivated and are aimed at bringing him down.
