  • BUNDIBUGYO - Women from the two Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Dioceses of Kasese and Kabarole have been advised to form small groups and start income-generating activities.

Sarah Nyende of SDA Central Field Church in Kampala said the initiative would not only make women self-reliant and financially stable but also earn them respect from the men. Nyende also urged the illiterate women to join adult literacy classes to access information. Nyende was speaking at a five-day congress that began on Thursday at Bundibugyo Primary Teachers College.

She challenged the women to take advantage of the Government's support towards the emancipation of women to rise and emancipate themselves.

The congress, under the theme: "Empowering women for active service", handled topics like empowering women through education and economic empowerment for self reliance.
