THREE construction companies have been awarded tenders, worth over sh296m, for road maintenance in rural areas.

The district vice-chairperson, Moses Batwala, said Mukenge Building Contractors would maintain the Kabowa-Budima road at sh160m, Gumute Investments Limited would take on Buyala-Mutai road at sh80m, while Kadama road would be maintained by Jaluuko Hardware and Contractors at sh56m.

The contracts were awarded by the Kamuli district contracts committee because that of Jinja expired. Batwala urged the contractors to do quality work.
