A 46-year-old man is said to have murdered his wife, whom he suspected of committing adultery. The man later committed suicide.
Nazima Ndawula killed his wife, Efulance Babirye, 42, in what an eyewitness described as a horrible murder.
Ndawula is reported to have chopped Babirye to bits and scattered her flesh all over the compound.
“He cut his wife several times using a panga on the head, throat and stomach. Ndawula’s body was found in a nearby bush, where he is suspected to have collapsed due to a drug overdose,†said the witness who preferred anonymity.
The murder took place last week in Buwooya village, Buyanga sub-county in Iganga district.
Babirye had earlier separated with Ndawula and went to live with her parents in Bugiri district but decided to return to her marital home in January.
Christopher Kubai, the south-eastern regional Police commander, said the Police had recovered the bodies.
“Babirye’s body was recovered in a pool of blood at their home, while Ndawula’s was recovered from a nearby bush .â€
Both bodies were handed over to relatives for burial.
