Youth urged to vote
JINJA - The youth of voting age should participate in politics, the district chairperson, Hannington Basakana, has said. “The future is yours to participate in the leadership of your country because it determines the destiny of this country,” he said. He made the remarks on Saturday while addressing students at a prize-awarding ceremony of the best students of Jinja Senior Secondary School in last year’s UNEB examinations.

Stanbic gives to Bududa
BUDUDA - Stanbic Bank has donated 2,000 blankets to the victims whose houses were destroyed by landslides. More than 81 bodies have so far been retrieved and more than 300 people are still missing. The bank’s spokesperson, Daniel Nsibambi, said the bank also gave out 2,000 jerrycans to the victims. He said the items were handed over last week to the Uganda Red Cross by the bank’s managing director, Philip Odera.
