A fisherman was last week mauled by a crocodile at Musubi Beach on Lake Victoria. Muhamad Mugwere was fishing on the fateful night when the crocodile attacked him. Mugwere’s colleagues said he was attacked when he went into the water to retrieve a net that was stuck on a rock.

“The beast carried him away as we helplessly cried for help,” said Moses Wabwire, one of his friends.
Mugwere’s mangled body was found on a papyrus shoreline the following morning, Wabwire said.
