Gun got in Lake Victoria
BUGIRI - Security operatives have recovered a gun that sunk in Lake Victoria when a boat capsised at Usenge on the Uganda-Kenya border. The AK47 rifle belonged to a policeman identified as Francis Okiror, who survived the accident by clinging onto an empty jerrycan and was rescued by fishermen. A total of 26 people perished in the accident, which the Police blamed on overloading.

Nile Breweries provides water

SOROTI - Over sh80m has been invested in boreholes by Nile Breweries to provide safe water in Budaka, Bukedea, Katakwi and Soroti districts. The four boreholes were handed over to the state minister for water, Jennifer Namuyangu, by the company managing director, Nick Jenkinson, in a ceremony held at Acapa community centre.
