EMILY Ochieng, a 13-month-old girl, is seeking financial support to undergo a heart operation in India.

Dr. John Omagino, the deputy director consultant cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Uganda Heart Institute at Mulago, said Ochieng needs US$12,600 (sh23.3m) for the operation to be done at Madras Mission India.

“Ochieng was born with a congenital heart defect, called mitral valve prolapse. She will need mitral valve repair, which cannot be done here in Uganda,” Omagino said.

Financial assistance in the names of Uganda Heart Foundation (Emily Ochieng) can be deposited on account no. 1775930 at Barclays Bank main branch in Kampala.
