THE Apac district chairman has commended President Yoweri Museveni for granting Kole a district status, writes Patrick Opio.

“Kole is now a district curved out of Apac. We are grateful to President Museveni for granting Kole this status. It was a long cherished demand of the people,” Nicholas Opio Bunga said.

This was during a send-off party for civil servants to kick-start Kole district at Omodi Hotel in Apac district recently.

“To those of us still in Apac district, I am appealing to you to continue to work hard as you have always done,” Bunga said.

“Gaps have been created with the departure of our colleagues, which must be filled so that work continues in Apac,” he added.

At the same function, the Apac chief administrative officer (CAO), Andrew Leru, introduced the new Kole CAO, James Fred Okello and technical staff seconded to work in Kole.
