Adrisi takes a glass of juice as his wife, Sauda, looks on at Mulago Hospital

By Godfrey Kimono

FORMER vice-president Mustafa Adrisi is improving, a few days after he was admitted at Mulago Hospital. The 78-year-old retired army general, who deputised president Idi Amin, was admitted after he complained of chest pain, a bruised tongue, loss of appetite and weight and general body weakness.

Speaking to The New Vision on Tuesday, Adrisi said the pain had been gradually reducing in the past two days.

“He has regained his strength and can now eat, unlike when he had just been admitted. He also walks to the ward balcony alone for fresh air,” said Toto Adris, his son.

Sipping a glass of juice, Adrisi thanked President Museveni for helping him.

“I thank the President who sent his team led by the Arua resident district commissioner with a chopper to rescue me.”

He was also grateful to the doctors, Kenneth Opio and William Worodria, who are attending to him in Ward 6B.
