  • Orphans get
FOOD for the Hungry International, an NGO based in Thailand, has donated 16 bales of blankets to 500 orphans in Apac district.
The coordinator, Collins Alip, recently handed over the blankets to the beneficiaries at the organisation’s office in Akalo sub-county in Apac district.
The beneficiaries are pupils of Barakalo and Tikoling primary schools in Akalo.
Alip assured the orphans that they would continue helping them.

    Besigye foils
FDC presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye on Saturday foiled an attempt by the Police to block him from addressing a rally. He arrived in Yumbe district a few minutes after 6:00pm and addressed a rally at the Boma Ground.
Electoral regulations do not permit candidates to address rallies after 6:00pm for security reasons. However, Besigye said the Police had not stopped Museveni from addressing rallies at night.

    Body found

A STUDENT of Adwoki Technical School in Lira was recently found dead.
The decomposing body of Juma Kinto, a third year student of carpentry and joinery, was found in a culvert in Aboko swamps in Aduku sub-county, on the Apac-Lira road. Aduku Police chief Robert Okello said Kinto was shot in the back.
